Providence Health & Services Specialist - Health Information, ROI in Portland, Oregon
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Specialist - Health Information, ROI (Full-Time Evenings, Tuesday-Saturday schedule) to work partially remote within the Portland area.
*This role is partially remote and may require you to be onsite on an as needed basis.
Shift: Ranges between 3:30pm - 12 am, Tuesday - Saturday
We are seeking a Specialist - Health Information, ROI who will respond to requests for patient information and confirms authorizations for such requests. Area of specialty is release of information. May provide information to attorneys, auditors, disability personnel, insurance companies, physicians, clinicians, patients, business office employees, researchers and worker's compensation workers following all requirements for State and Federal regulations, HIPAA and Providence Health Systems policies.
Performs all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and philosophy.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Researches and responds to requests for patient information, both routine and emergency.
Confirms authorizations and/or verifies requests for release of information.
Logs requests into Horizon Patient Folder - ROI Module.
Determines location of requested record and retrieves it.
Prints, faxes and photocopies appropriate records from HPF, microfiche/microfilm or hard copy.
Maintains confidentiality of Protected Health Information.
Serves as a resource for other Providence Health System staff in the area of specialty.
Routes questions to appropriate Health Information Management or ancillary services personnel.
Responds to Business Office requests for information and copies.
Performs printer operation maintenance.
Maintains acceptable productivity standards.
Processes mail, generates envelopes and prepares mail for pickup.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or GED.
College course work in health information technology or equivalent.
Medical Terminology experience.
At least two years experience in a Health Information Management setting
