Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior RN Manager-Regional Clinical Resource to our location in Portland, OR. Qualified external applicants are eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus.

We are seeking a Senior RN Manager-Regional Clinical Resource who will be accountable for managing the 24/7 operations of the Regional Clinical Resources Department. This position supports the provision of and assures quality for the nursing resources provided by Share Care, agency resources, as well as the daily allocation of staff throughout the Oregon Region. Oversight of the Regional Clinical Resources Department includes partnering with the Operations Manager and Operations Coordinator in the management of daily operations, oversight of the Staffing Coordinator/Staffing Specialist team, and agency resources, as well as standardizing processes related to staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping across Oregon.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manages, develops and inspires each member of the team to perform at their best.

  • Oversees the provision of ample qualified clinical staff at each facility through available staffing resources, including regular/float/on-call staff, Share Care and Agency.

  • Consistently supports efficient, effective and safe patient care delivery through development and maintenance of up-to-date staffing practices that are responsive to unit needs. Achieves department objectives that support organizational goals, including advancing the strategic vision and goals of the Oregon Nursing Leadership Council.

  • Supports Nursing and Allied departments across all entities (acute care, long-term care, and clinics) by providing a centralized and coordinated approach to regular/float/on-call, Share Care, and Agency staff placement. Works closely with nursing leaders across the region to determine the most appropriate and cost-effective staffing resources for their departments.

  • Reviews staffing data on an ongoing basis and works with customers to adjust staffing plans in an ever-changing environment. Uses staffing analytics to partner with our customers to proactively create schedules that meet patient care needs.

  • Oversees daily operations of the Regional Clinical Resources Department. Provides direction to Staffing Coordinators and Staffing Specialists as appropriate. Troubleshoots problems and challenges with customers as needed. Ensures all parties are meeting the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

  • Collaborates with the Executive Director and Operations Manager of the Regional Clinical Resources Department to expand clinical staffing and timekeeping services throughout Oregon.

  • Markets and promotes Share Care participation throughout Oregon and provides education in the use of and enrollment in each.

  • Holds Nursing unit leaders accountable to the Department service level agreement, Agency and Share Care policies/guidelines.

  • Reviews and approves/denies Share Care applications. Assures that Share Care requirements are completed on all Share Care personnel and that participants have an appropriate orientation plan.

  • Completes the hiring process on all Staffing Coordinators and Staffing Specialists and ensures that they go through the proper orientation process. Evaluates the educational/training needs of Staffing Coordinators, Specialists, and provides and/or coordinates ongoing mandatory in services/training as applicable.

  • Manages performance of Staffing Coordinators and Specialists. Completes annual performance evaluations, on-going feedback, coaching and corrective action as appropriate.

  • Maintains knowledge base of current staffing and payroll systems and processes while constantly adapting to changes within an evolving health care environment.

  • Recognizes and responds immediately and appropriately to constant change in census acuity and demands for staffing and timekeeping needs.

  • Oversees staff schedules to assure coverage.

  • Conducts unit meetings, recording and distributing minutes.

  • Leads the department in maintaining accuracy and excellent customer service focus at all times.

  • Facilitates the coordination and scheduling of Share Care and Per Diem Agency.

  • Manages clinical and behavioral aspects of Traveler contracts.

  • Manages agency time capture and invoicing processes.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • Current license as RN in the state of Oregon.

  • 5 years general nursing experience in acute care setting.

  • 2 years as direct care nurse and progressive leadership responsibilities such as charge nurse, supervisor and/or manager.

  • 2 years experience leading and mentoring staff, managing performance and resolving conflicts.

  • 2 years experience with healthcare staffing, scheduling and timekeeping in Kronos software.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
