Providence Health & Services Senior Program Manager - Caregiver Engagement in Portland, Oregon


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Program Manager – Caregiver Engagement to our location in Portland, OR, or within the Providence footprint locations (WA, CA, AK, MT, NM, TX)

The System Office of Philanthropy at Providence exists to inspire generosity across all 40 local and regional Providence Foundations as well as The Providence National Foundation. Through the work of the System Office team, our foundations receive tools, services, and support designed to empower them to raise funds to provide critically needed services in the communities we serve — be it to provide compassionate care to our most vulnerable citizens, advance research that will save more lives, or fund programs that otherwise would not exist.

We are seeking a Sr. Program Manager – Caregiver Engagement to join our growing team. In this role, you will:

  • In partnership with regional and local Foundation teams, develop a caregiver campaign toolkit and playbook to streamline the execution of campaigns

  • Research and recommend campaign alignment opportunities

  • Collaborate with HR partners to identify opportunities to promote the work of the Foundations throughout the caregiver experience

  • Develop caregiver stewardship and alumni engagement toolkits that can be deployed throughout the System

  • Build effective partnerships with key business and organizational leaders, users, and vendors.

  • Document, present, and obtain approval of program requirements, goals, objectives, plans, and schedules that includes the following: testing plans, baseline measurement, outcome goals, project budget, budget tracking methodology, risk assessment and change management process.

  • Administer, communicate, and implement the plans consistent with organization expectations, time frames and budgetary guidelines.

  • Facilitate and collaborate with end-users to achieve goals within timeframes and budget.

  • Assist with researching, developing, obtaining approval for services and resources required in response to program needs.

  • Identifies milestones, tasks and activities through prescribed program management and development techniques and methodologies.

  • Manages own activities to accomplish milestones and meet schedules. Manages customer expectations, provides management reports, and escalates issues appropriately.

  • Implements systems to achieve and maintain expected outcomes.

  • Understands project “big picture” and impact on organization. Takes a strategic approach to planning and managing all aspects. Balances short- and long-term requirements and resource allocation.

  • Developing, managing and executing project plans (objectives, goals, scope, schedules resources costs, and dependencies) that are integrated and synchronized with other areas of the business adjusting plans across the business as required to ensure successful delivery of commitments and use of resources.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, information systems, or related field.

  • 4 years’ experience in a similar role in a comparable or larger institution.

  • 5 years’ experience in increasingly responsible, large, complex project management roles preferably within a healthcare setting.

  • 5 years experienced in all areas of project management including multiple project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, staffing, communications, risk, and procurement and have experience in managing multiple related projects to achieve identified project portfolio objectives.

  • 5 years’ experience in financial business management and strategic development.

  • 5 years’ demonstrated track record and successful ability to work with upper management and key stakeholders in a collaborative manner.

  • Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 3 years’ experience managing caregiver (employee) giving campaigns

  • 3 years’ experience managing stewardship programs

  • Experience with Blackbaud CRM
