Providence is calling a RN Transfer Center Coordinator (0.9 FTE Night Shift) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR.

The Registered Nurse in the Oregon Region Transfer Center operates in a multi-functional team that supports the evaluation, consultation and transfer of patients for any of the eight Providence Oregon hospitals. The Transfer Center Nurse efficiently facilitates complex requests relating to physician consults, telemedicine requests, and timely patient transfers between facilities.
This position collaborates with the Centralized Bed Control team to secure appropriate placement of patients, expedites emergency operations plans, and gathers complex details to accurately assist the health care team in responding to the patient’s clinical care needs.
This position serves as the central point of contact for capacity and is called upon to disseminate information to area hospitals to manage capacity and patient flow within the region.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Triage patients to the appropriate level of service throughout all hospitals in the Oregon Region
Work diligently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to innovate and solve for multifaceted issues regarding patient care
Provide superior customer service and service recovery, utilizing good sound judgment and independent thinking to meet or exceed the expectations of physicians, patients, visitors, and multidisciplinary staff members
Coordinate complex transfers of acutely ill patients to Providence facilities from inside and outside our health system
Partner with Life Flight and Critical Care Transport to ensure a superior transport experience for our patients.
Demonstrate leadership and strong communication skills
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Current Oregon State Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure
Five (5) years in acute care setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Leadership experience and/or ED -OR- Critical Care patient care background
