Providence Health & Services RN - Preadmit Clinic in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a RN - Pre Admit Clinic (0.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Saint Vincent Medical Center in Portland , OR

We are seeking a Registered Nurse - Pre Admit Clinic that will be accountable for direct and indirect quality care for patients according to the individualized needs of the patient, following the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. May require the RN to be responsible for the assessment of patients adolescent, adult and geriatric. RN must be competent to analyze patient data with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial, spiritual and chronological maturation process. Accept professional development as an integral part of nursing practice. Coordinate patient care activities with other members of the health care team in a collegial relationship.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide for a comprehensive patient assessment

  • Develop and implements an individualized plan of care which reflects the standard of care

  • Provide and documents necessary patient/family education in support of interdisciplinary treatment plan

  • Develop the discharge plan of care

  • Contact peri-operative patients to initiate interviews based on anesthesia guideline and using clinical judgment

  • Collaborate with other departments such as Lab, EKG, Pharmacy, ICVOR, Rehab, etc., to coordinate patient care

  • Monitor patient condition, notes change in status, utilizes judgment and takes appropriate action

  • Participate in the Quality Improvement process as defined in the department QA plan

  • Accurately and concisely documents patient care activities and information

  • Provide quality care in an efficient, cost-effective manner

  • Support and assist with orientation of new staff and/or students

  • Demonstrate advancement of professional nursing practice through continuing education

  • Demonstrate advancement of professional nursing practice through unit/department activities


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the Oregon State Board of Nursing

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
