Providence Health & Services RN - Clinical Documentation Specialist in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse Clinical Documentation Specialist (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.
This position will work Monday - Friday, 40 hours/wk and will join a team of 21 nurses focused on the same quality initiatives.

In this position, you will:
Be part of a regional team that facilitates improvement in the overall quality, completeness and accuracy of medical record documentation.
Analyze clinical information to identify areas within the medical record for potential gaps in physician documentation.
Assist with necessary modification to clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians.
Work with coding staff to assure documentation of discharge diagnoses and co-morbidities are a complete reflection of the patient’s clinical status and care.
Develop and implement plans for education of physicians, nursing and ancillary staff on documentation improvement.
Perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concept, caring and respect, and which reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and philosophy.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor Degree in Nursing (An MD graduate/educated in (foreign country or US) may also be accepted in lieu of a BA in Nursing)
Current unencumbered Oregon state Registered Nurse (RN) license
5 years of recent acute care experience in adult acute, critical care, or strong medical/surgical setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Masters of Science in Nursing
