Providence is calling a Research Associate 2 (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR. The Antitumor T-cell Response Lab at the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute (EACRI) is recruiting a Research Associate to perform research related to adoptive T-cell immunotherapy against cancer. The goal of this lab is to better understand the T-cell response against cancer so that more effective adoptive T-cell immunotherapies can be developed for patients with metastatic epithelial cancers. The EACRI is fully committed to bench-to-bedside research. Promising findings can be directly translated into experimental therapies that can be used to treat patients with cancer here at Providence Cancer Institute. The primary responsibilities of this position include generating T-cell products for patient treatment, performing experiments, data acquisition, analysis, and management, and training and education. Experience with mammalian cell culture and cGMP compliance are major assets. Experience in immunological research techniques such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), ELISPOT assay, and multicolor flow cytometry, as well as T-cell culture are also major assets.
In this position, you will:
Assist the Laboratory Chief in the implementation and design of research activities in the Cancer Research laboratories.
Perform scientific and administrative duties under some supervision of the Laboratory Chief or other laboratory personnel.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors degree (BA) with major courses in the field of research
3 years of research lab experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors of Science (BS) in appropriate biomedical field
Experience with mammalian cell culture and cGMP compliance are major assets
Experience in immunological research techniques such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), ELISPOT assay, and multicolor flow cytometry, as well as T-cell culture are also major assets.
