Providence is calling a Pre-Surgery Care Clinic (PSCC) Technician - Preadmit Clinic (0.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Saint Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR
We are seeking a Pre-Surgery Care Clinic (PSCC) Technician - Preadmit Clinic that will work closely with all members of the PSCC team to provide direct patient care to optimize positive patient care outcomes. Assists the registered nurse/physician/nurse practitioner during clinic visits by providing the appropriate procedures
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Patient Care - Treatment Areas:
Participate in resuscitation procedures by performing CPR including simple airway maintenance
Obtain vital signs for provider visit
Hibiclens soap teaching using scripting
Mupirocin teaching using scripting
Procedures - Clinical Testing:
Perform EKGs.
Perform lab point of care tests: urine dip, urine pregnancy, and blood glucose
Perform phlebotomy
Perform ABIs
Perform nasal swabs
General Patient Care:
Assist patients with dressing and undressing
Transport patients to all areas of the hospital
Education and Leadership:
Attend department meetings to stay informed and assist with issue resolution
Participate in committees and work groups
Attend required yearly education
Assist with training of new PSCC techs and employees
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Current or previous EMT, Paramedic, Completion of Medical Assistant Program or CNA certificate (Not required to maintain certification after hire) -OR- Skills acquired through military or surgical/ED tech experience or completion of ED tech residency program through Providence Oregon Emergency Services
Basic Life Support certification (AHA)
One (1) year of relevant experience acquired during certification or licensure process, military experience as medical personnel or senior clinical nursing student is also considered.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- One (1) year of relevant experience in Patient care or clinical
