Providence Operations Manager-Swindell's in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Swindell's Manager - The Swindells Center (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Child Center & Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR

We are seeking a Swindell's Manager - The Swindells Center that will work with Swindell's Director, Child Development Institute Administration, Mission, Marketing/Communications, Foundation, local and county civic and social service groups/agencies/government on community outreach activities and programs aimed to assure the integration of Providence mission values and strategic goals through the coordination, provision and support of community based programming. Manager will develop and maintain partnerships and collaborative efforts with both internal and external partners. They will also support/supervise staff to ensure that the roles of Community Outreach Specialist and Coordinators meet the needs of stakeholders that we serve. Specifically, Swindells staff identify additional resources, community support, and assist in navigation of complex social services, mental health, and medical systems for families with children with special or complex health needs. The Manager is responsible for training staff on appropriate protocols and procedures and assure standardization of processes across facilities.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage, hire and train new Swindells staff

  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to current Swindells Community Outreach Specialists and Coordinators

  • Manage day to day operational activities (e.g. scheduling, materials, services, and assists in facilitation of staff meetings)

  • Train Staff to assure standardized processes across the facilities with strong focus on customer service

  • Create collaborative relationships with patients and clinical staff across Providence and external agencies

  • Participate in annual budget process with Director, by providing forecasted expenses, travel, and staffing needs

  • Assist in the development and implementation of administrative policies, guidelines and procedures and strategic planning with in Swindells

  • Collaborate with other managers regarding continuing education opportunities, shared equipment needs, and in-service training needs


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Coursework/Training: College level coursework in communications, public health, social work, education or special education, along with equivalent work experience preferred

  • Current and valid Oregon Driver's license

  • Experience working in a healthcare with patient contact

  • Two (2) years of Experience in community outreach

  • Two (2) years of Supervisor role

  • Three (3) years of Customer service experience, with 1 year experience in healthcare

  • Demonstrated experience with Windows based software programs

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree
