Providence is calling a Clinical Nursing Manager - Home Infusion (Home Infusion and Ambulatory Suite RN Clinical Manager, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Infusion & Pharmacy Services in Portland, Oregon. In this position you will:
Integrate the PSJH mission, core values (Integrity, Compassion, Justice, Excellence, and Dignity), Vision and Promise into routine management practices and decision making.
Provide oversight and supervision of the daily nursing operations of the ministries Home and Ambulatory Infusion Program. Direct, plan and coordinate activities of caregivers rendering patient care. Have clinical, operational, and financial accountability for home and ambulatory infusion nursing services.
Create a supportive positive work environment to encourage growth, team collaboration and caregiver retention. Provides clear direction and support to caregivers. Encourages continuous feedback and input from staff to continually work towards best practice benchmarks.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people. Such people may include but are not limited to: all facility/agency caregivers, physicians, community service groups, state agencies, patients/clients and their family members, visitors, outside vendors, contracted staff and Providence St. Joseph Health caregivers.
Assure appropriate assessment and documentation skills or develop those skills with clinical caregivers that will result in the delivery and documentation of high quality clinical services and best practices. Monitors, coaches and provides field supervision of all clinical performance and conducts joint visits to evaluate performance of the nursing assessments.
Interpret policies and regulations to clinical personnel and ensures compliance. In collaboration with the Director, reviews and updates policies and procedures ensuring compliance with agency policies and professional/regulatory standards.
Regularly assures and reviews clinical documentation for content, completeness, timeliness, accuracy, and adherence to the plan of care and adherence to federal, state, and Joint Commission compliance regulations and requirements .
Be responsible for oversight of clinicians in the field and coordination of services with multidisciplinary team. Provides clinical expertise and oversight of care delivery in the field and support to Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services caregivers via phone or visits as appropriate.
Responsible for establishing and ongoing performance, productivity standards and competency evaluations assuring all direct report caregiver’s ability to meet those standards in accordance with state, federal and Medicare requirements.
Address performance issues and/or productivity issues and provide intervention, education and appropriate disciplinary action as related to performance issues. Conferences with staff, case managers, Human Resources, other clinicians or director as appropriate.
Responsible for oversight of assigning and coordinating referrals to RN caregivers taking into consideration skill level, competency and expertise to optimize safety and quality of care and for considering caseload, availability, visit schedules, staffing levels and geographic areas to maximize efficiency and continuity of services.
Recruits, interviews, and hires nursing caregivers in alignment with outlined ministry-specific strategy, vision and goals.
Responsible for administration of nursing care services. Records and investigates all customer complaints and resolves issues when appropriate. Problem solves in a manner that considers the needs of customers and caregivers.
Acts as the Infection Control Officer for Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services documenting staff and patient infections. Stays current with local, regional and other public health information and provides guidance as appropriate.
Demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement, LEAN processes, six sigma tools and collaborates with caregivers in the activities related to that program.
Actively champion caregiver survey participation within assigned departments and review & present survey results to staff. Lead action planning session(s) with staff and oversee follow-up with routine updates to team and supervising leader and maintain ultimate accountability for departmental results. Continued and ongoing work on improving Employer of Choice, Caregiver Retention and other initiatives.
Participate in relevant educational activities to improve job knowledge and to promote professional growth. Attends regularly scheduled department and staff meetings as appropriate.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Current Nursing License for the State of Oregon
Current BLS (Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required within 30 days of hire.
In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 Background Checks, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties.
Valid driver's license
Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire.
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Two (2) Home Infusion experience.
Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI)
Experienced in change facilitation techniques
Previous Supervisory experience
Two (2) years of home infusion and/or home health experience
