We are seeking a Instrumentation Technician who will perform installations, scheduled maintenance, repairs, calibration and safety inspections of communication equipment and systems. Work assigned ranges from moderate to advanced in difficulty, in some cases requiring specialized and/or advanced training. The Technician works under the general supervision of the CE-Biomedical Services Manager and coordinates work with other technicians within the department. The Technician prioritizes duties to ensure a minimum of operational downtime and maximize the efficiency use of equipment. They participate in the on-call rotation and must be on site within one hour of receiving a call.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on electronic, mechanical, information and communication systems as assigned. Uses scheduled work orders, manufacturer's service/operational literature and direction from Lead Technician to schedule work. Document all work accomplished in CMMS by the end of their next scheduled shift
Maintain a current and accurate spare parts inventory list needed to maintain and repair assigned equipment. Draw parts from stock and places requests for new parts as needed. Inform the Lead Technician by the end of the next shift when stock needs to be reordered.
Complete Equipment Risk Criteria to establish scheduled testing and maintenance work order procedures and frequency of inspections for assigned equipment. Use manufacturer's literature, training, NFPA, Joint Commission guidelines, and local and regional standards.
Install, relocate, maintain and repair security monitoring systems and access control systems as assigned
Maintain other low voltage electronic equipment such as but not limited to, televisions, nurse call equipment and video recorders as assigned
Evaluate and prioritize work load to accomplish the best possible service given the resources at hand, provide service/project feedback to the designated Lead Technician and/or Manager and meet established productivity standards
Provide equipment/system in-service training to other technicians as required and after receiving specialized training in order to enhance department capabilities and coverage
Investigate recall notice, notify all involved parties, and arranges for the return of equipment/parts within 10-days of receiving the notice. Document service activities in the CMMS database as action steps are completed.
Review and verify vendor service contracts to ensure that equipment is being serviced by the contracted vendor/provider properly, on schedule and that appropriate service documentation is received. Ensures contract services and reports are documented in the CMMS within one week of receiving vendor/contractor documentation. Communicate delays and variances to the Manager, CE-Biomedical Services or Instrumentation in a timely manner
Represent department effort on complex systems installation projects by working with Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers, Contractors and Installers and coordinating activities.
Participate in the On-Call after hours' response rotation and reports to the work site within one-hour
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Associate's Degree in Electronics -OR- Five (5) years Installation and maintenance of electronic equipment experience
Oregon Limited Energy Technician License. Class A license is required.
Current driver's license.
