Pharmacy Techs are placed into either Infusion Clinical or Infusion Mixing positions based on Department needs along with candidates specific skill sets and responsibilities.
Infusion Pharmacy Mixing Technician - Under the direct supervision of our pharmacists, the Infusion Pharmacy Mixing Technician cleanroom duties include compounding sterile products according to USP 797/800 standards. Outside of the cleanroom they coordinate workflow ensuring patients and nurses get the medications and supplies they need to ensure high quality care. The Infusion Pharmacy Mixing Technician is a vital member of the Infusion Pharmacy patient care team.
Infusion Pharmacy Clinical Technician - The Infusion Pharmacy Clinical Technician is a specialized member of the Infusion Pharmacy patient care team. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, their primary duties include coordinating patient care with RPh, Nurses, and MD offices to ensure quality outcomes and that the patient feels supported. They triage phone calls, fill prescriptions according to Oregon Board of Pharmacy and USP 797/800 standards, and work with EMR to ensure processes flow smoothly.
Please note these are variable positions mainly working 9am - 5:30pm and 10:30am - 7pm with scheduled weekend, on call and holiday rotation.
In both positions, you will:
Perform duties relating to the filling and dispensing of medications from the pharmacy to the patient’s home or appropriate facility in a prompt and accurate manner.
Possess advanced knowledge and skills in 2 or more specialty areas in the pharmacy.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current Oregon Board of Pharmacy Certified Technician registration
1 year (2080 clock hours) of pharmacy technician experience
In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-Oregon (OR) Human Resources policy #302 “Background Checks”, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Program
Inpatient, Long Term Care or Specialty Pharmacy experience and previous experience with Pyxis CII Safe
