Providence is calling a HRIS Senior Project Manager PSJH to Providence Health & Services in Irvine, CA.

We are seeking a HRIS Senior Project Manager PSJH to be responsible for delivering business value through effective project management of one or more large and/or complex projects including accountability for identification of adequate staffing, leading cross-functional project teams, identifying and obtaining resources needed in addition to identification of major organizational process impact and completion within constraints of scope, time, budget, and quality. Will also provide strategic direction, work assignments, facilitation, communication, project structure/plans, and technical expertise.

In this role, the HRIS Sr Project Manager will provide strategic leadership on overall project management support for initiatives related to HR information technology and applications. This includes project management support for initiatives around HR Transformation, HRIS integration/acquisition projects, the ERP HCM / Payroll implementation, and other HR systems and business process improvement projects (e.g., compensation, benefits, learning, performance, time and attendance, etc.). Responsible for ensuring the successful execution and completion of milestones throughout the project life cycle through maintaining strong partnerships and effective communication with senior leaders and business owners.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plans, organizes, secures, and manages resources and tasks to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. Ensures quality delivery of project on time and within budget.

  • Continually assess the health of a project and project teams, regularly netting review findings so that the most important problem areas, as well as most noteworthy areas for praise, are clearly identified.

  • Actively manage and drive overall project cost, schedule, and quality performance relative to internal metrics and contractual requirements.

  • Develop integrated plans that includes project deliverables, strategic alignment, total cost management, enterprise-wise impacts, milestones, risks, assumptions, constraints, change management and overall project investment. Updates project plans, priorities, and project sequencing as needed.

  • Demonstrates effective interactions and positive interpersonal skills in dealing with fellow employees, supervisors, stakeholders, other department employees and vendors in order to maximize productivity and positive employee relations including virtual team leadership and interactions. Partners and collaborates cross-functionally throughout project to resolve issues, address prioritization, manage risks and ensure success.

  • Anticipates and identifies task required to support change processing including performing change impact analysis, assigning tasks to project team members, verbally communicating complex issues, verifying that tasks are completed, and communicating implementation status.

  • Manage Scope documentation - initial drafts, vetting, approvals and identifying scope risk (resources, clarity, and capacity) and maintaining change logs.

  • Manage Project Schedules including initial development, milestones, vetting, tracking, managing schedule risks and managing close out activities. Elevating and managing project risks and issues as appropriate, proactively work to resolution. Ensuring that quality steps and processes are in place and communicated to the team, and that quality issues are addressed.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Human Resources, Computer Science, Business Mgmt. or related field.

  • 7 years’ Experience in project management with demonstrated experience in large HR technology implementations.

  • 5 years’ Experience in HR, process improvement, change management.

  • 3 years of Supervisory experience.

  • 2 years of Demonstrated experience implementing complex HR and/or payroll systems (e.g. Lawson, Infor, Workday, Oracle, ADP, Kronos, Taleo, and Success Factors).

  • 25-30% travel to system-wide locations. Travel requirement may increase, based on project requirements (e.g. system implementation work).

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s Degree in MBA, Computer Science, HR, or related field.

  • Understanding of financial reporting and budgeting in expense and capital environments.

  • PMP certification
