Providence Floor Care Specialist in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Floor Care Specialist to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. This is a full-time, evening shift position. Schedule is 5:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. Days are rotating and will include weekends and holidays.
We are seeking a Floor Care Specialist who will perform cleaning and maintenance of all carpeted, hard floor surfaces and upholstery. Performs preventative maintenance on all floor equipment. Covers for Cleaning Attendant as needed. Performs tasks in any assigned area of Providence Health & Services hospitals and medical office buildings or satellite clinics; to provide a lasting favorable first impression for our staff, physicians, patients and visitors. Participates in the departments continuous quality improvement activities. Successful performance contributes to the holistic approach to the delivery of services, improved patient care and a high level of satisfaction from staff, patients and families
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors; carpets, tile, concrete flooring and upholstery
Utilize the appropriate chemicals, supplies and cleaning techniques according to procedure and manufacturer’s recommendations
Perform restoration functions on highly soiled or worn areas
Follow all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions
Replenish supplies; notifies the supervisor when supplies need to be ordered
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely
Maintain cleanliness of all equipment utilized
Refer equipment repair needs or safety hazards to Environmental Services Supervisor or appropriate department
Must be able to manipulate carts, wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and other equipment or furniture
Observe safety precautions at all times. Uses safety signs (Wet Floor) and ropes off sections of floor for cleaning where appropriate
Required qualifications for this position include:
- One (1) year of floor care experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma -OR- GED
Two (2) years of floor care experience
