Providence Finance Manager - PSJH in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Finance Manager - PSJ H (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR

Shift: Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm

We are seeking a Finance Partner PSJH - Finance who will be an advisor to Senior Leadership with a focus on driving financial improvement within the organization. Assists key decision makers in forming an objective and accurate view of operations and services and opportunities by analyzing financial information, interpreting trends and metrics. Completes various projects related to the measurement, forecast and reporting of critical financial results.

Performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence St. Joseph mission, values, and philosophy. Serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Business Support:

  • Is an Advisor to senior leadership including EVP, SVP, VP, Sr Dir and other management team

  • Special projects including business plan and pro forma development, especially in new business ventures

  • Analysis:

  • Partnership with leaders in proactive development of financial analytic materials and methodologies

  • Develop insights that support key decision-makers through critical research and analysis of operational areas such as resource utilization, organizational structure, and work methods/procedures

  • Interpret business trends and metrics to assist key decision makers in forming an objective view of operations, services and opportunities

  • Conduct studies, productivity analyses, and surveys to identify areas for financial improvement

  • Leadership:

  • Represent PSMS Financial Planning and Analysis on work groups and acts as a lead contact for system office financial information for entity personnel

  • Budgeting and Long Range Planning:

  • Develop budgets, long-range financial plan and annual budget

  • Be responsible for LRP and budget assumptions

  • Develop financial plans in line with strategies to achieve PSMS goals and objectives

  • Develop and provide training to leadership teams and managers regarding budget reporting, metrics and related information

  • Facilitate education sessions either in a one-on-one environment or in large groups in person or via web

  • Develop insights that support key decision-makers through critical research and analysis of operational areas such as resource utilization, organizational structure, and work methods/procedures


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare related discipline

  • Six (6) years of Analytical & business experience in financial analysis, accounting or related discipline

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Master's Degree in Health Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration

  • Experience as a Senior Financial Analyst

  • Demonstrated strong ability to partner with leadership.
