Providence is calling a Engineer Electrical System - Facility Services (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland,OR
We are seeking a Engineer Electrical System - Facility Services is responsible for the integrity and reliability of the normal and emergency electrical power systems, including the distribution system and related equipment; operating and monitoring equipment; control software; and power quality and energy management for Providence hospitals in the OR Region
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Maintains current knowledge of codes relevant to electrical system design, construction, and maintenance.
Develops and maintains the OR region maintenance staff electrical safety program, including Arc Flash protection
Develops and maintains the OR region standards for design, quality and energy efficiency of the electrical systems. Formulates recommendations for changes and improvements to the standards and system
Develops and maintains standardized electrical system compliance documentation for the OR region hospitals.
Develops and supervises the process for standardizing and maintaining accurate and current electrical one lines for the OR region hospitals
Develops and supervises the OR region standardized training program for electricians and maintenance staff for electrical safety, operation, maintenance
Supervises the in-house electrical permit program in OR region hospitals
Works with electrical consultants, contractors and staff to: plan, design, define scope of work, critical path schedules, and cost proposals for remodel, new construction projects and equipment installation that impact the hospital electrical systems.
Develops and supervises the OR region standardized procedures commissioning new electrical system installations
Develops and supervises the OR region standardized processes for maintaining current and accurate electrical system documentation including electronic drawings and documents; and equipment and panel labeling.
Notifies the OR Region Director of Facilities & Safety of unsafe conditions that require action on their part within 24 hours of discovery.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of experience in hospital or institutional/industrial design or operations -OR-Journeyman Electrical Supervisors License and 10 years of experience in construction or operations of hospital or industrial facilities
