Providence Health & Services Data Scientist - Lumedic in Portland, Oregon
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Data Scientist - Lumedic to our locations in WA, OR, or CA based remotely.
We are seeking a Data Scientist to perform research and development of advanced analytics solutions in healthcare. We are a data-driven company focused on appropriately and ethically using healthcare and claims data to improve the revenue cycle. As a member of our growing data science team, you will work with subject matter experts to uncover important insights and build intelligence models to better the patient and provider experiences. This role will primarily focus on performing exploratory data analysis, engineering features using domain knowledge, and building relevant machine learning workflows to achieve those goals.
In this position you will:
Work with Lumedic's internal and external teams to conceptualize, define, and assess analytic products.
Help define techniques and metrics to positively impact financial and operational outcome Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Integrate with external and internal data sources (relational databases, NoSQL data stores, data warehouses, APIs, etc.) to bring relevant data to the Lumedic network.
Work with large healthcare and financial datasets to generate applicable data extracts, analytical insights, and statistical analysis.
Design, build, and evaluate various types of machine learning models.
Participate in the full machine learning lifecycle to deliver applicable and performance models on an ongoing basis.
Organize, validate and take ownership of all assigned requirements and deliverables.
Contribute to and enable a positive work environment which highly encourages creative input and constructive criticism.
Develop strong collaborative working relationships with our teams and our key stakeholders.
Summarize and present complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Math, Applied Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent educ/experience
3 years complex analysist of large datasets in a professional setting
3 years professional experience in statistical modeling
1 year professional experience in machine learning model development and evaluation
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Math, Applied Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent educ/experience
Ph.D. in Math, Applied Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent educ/experience
3 years Professional experience with full machine learning life cycle
3 years Professional experience in machine learning model development and evaluation
Experience in Python and relevant data science packages
Experience working on cloud computing services, preferably Microsoft Azure Experience with Epic, Cerner, Meditech or similar Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
