Providence is callingCrisis Intervention Specialists to our Emergency Departments in our ProvidenceMedical Centers in Portland, Oregon. This are on call, variable shift positions.
At Providence, our goal
is to provide health care to people we serve, which includes behavioral health
needs. Our model of care has “three doors” – clinics, hospital inpatient units
and emergency departments. As an integral member of emergency department, our
crisis intervention are present 365 days a year to provide support, conduct
assessments and present their findings to the treatment team to collaboratively
determine the best level of care and resources that can be provided for the
patient and their family members.
This is an on call
opportunity. On calls must be willing to be scheduled for both shifts and
locations. Our on calls are primarily scheduled in advance however short notice
requests for coverage may also occur. We do not require on call to be available
for short notice requests. The shifts are 12 hours long and include day,
evening and overnight hours. Shift differentials are available for evening and
overnight. Locations for covering shifts may include:
Providence St. Vincent MedicalCenter
Providence Portland MedicalCenter
In this position, you will:
Independently practice in an evaluation/treatment setting to evaluate and treat psychiatric and substance use disorders.
Collaborate with patient/support systems to evaluate and diagnose, utilizing Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
Assess patient risk to self and/or others, complete and implement risk reduction/mitigation plans to ensure patient and community safety.
Provide crisis evaluations and develop care plan for patient including out-patient resources, follow-up appointments and inpatient admission if needed.
Demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities of advanced social work practice and shall perform duties in a manner that respects patient self-determination, reduces health disparities/barriers to care, and adheres to the appropriate code of ethics based on licensure, Standards of Practice (SOP), and the Providence mission.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree eligible for licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in accordance with the appropriate Oregon Board of licensure
LCSW, LPC or LMFT licensure with the state of Oregon
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification at time of hire, or within 60 days of hire
Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) training within 60 days of hire; re-certification required annually
2 years of post Master's experience in a behavioral health treatment setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 2 years of experience in providing emergency or inpatient services
