Providence is calling a Community Outreach Manager at The Swindells Center (1.0 FTE, Day) to Providence Child Center in Portland, OR

We are seeking a Community Outreach Manager- The Swindells Center that is responsible for all of the Center activities within the Oregon and Southwest Washington regions, and has budget and strategic planning responsibility for all Swindell's programs. The Sr. Manager is responsible for leading the Swindells management team and ensuring the provision of the following services: information and referral, data searches, family support, parent education, maintenance of a comprehensive directory of community resources and service provider education. Represents Providence Children's Services with other agencies in the community serving children and families within the Oregon Region. Responsible for on-going program development based on evaluation of changing community needs. Responsible for evaluation industry trends.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of strategic and evidence based programming for the Swindell’s Resource Center.

  • Development and management of the budget for the Swindell’s Resource Center.

  • Direct all Swindell’s activities including information and referral, data searches, family support, development and maintenance of lists of community resources, and parent and service provider education including classes, workshops and speakers throughout Oregon Region.

  • Is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising Swindell’s Center leadership.

  • Develop collaborative relationship and serve as a liaison with other agencies, services, and individuals (national, state and county) serving children with special needs to ensure coordination of service delivery, maximize community resources and avoid duplication of services.

  • Influence internal partner and program as the expert in working with children and families with disabilities.

  • Participate in the identification of grant opportunities and the preparation of grant proposal to secure funding for Resource Center programs and staffing. Provide follow up grant report, and work with individual donor in collaboration with Providence Foundation.

  • Collaborate with Foundation Board of Directors and Swindell’s sub-committee on program update, challenge and opportunities.

  • Design measurement, evaluation tool, and satisfaction survey. Ensure that Swindell’s leadership team is creating and meeting action plan as a result of outcomes.

  • Prioritize participation in community and outreach events, based on strategic impact to Women’s and Children’s Service.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, or related field

  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience

  • knowledge of illnesses and disabilities that affect children

  • knowledge of state and nation legislative and policy efforts

  • knowledge of resources for families of children with special needs

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Master's Degree: Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, or related field

  • Two (2) years of relevant xperience working with children and families with disabilities.
