Providence is calling a Certified Nursing Assistant 2/Activity Aide – Recreational Activity (0.0 FTE, Evenings) to Providence Child Center in Portland, OR.
We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant – Recreational Activity Aide who will perform basic activity and life enrichment functions and other duties under the direction and supervision of the recreational activity manager

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Understand the purpose of and carries out the residents plan of care, including Therapeutic Recreation Goals, according to the procedures taught in orientation and outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual
Report observations of status to appropriate team member and documents in the bedside chart
Provide self help, sensory stimulation, communication, adapted physical recreation and social interactions as outlined in each resident's therapeutic recreation plan
Welcome new staff members and volunteers, and assists with orientation
Act as a preceptor to new Activity Specialists and volunteers, providing the Recreational Activity Manager with performance evaluation peer reviews and progress towards personal goals, as requested and in writing
Organize and prioritize work appropriately and with minimal supervision, offering and seeking assistance as needed
Communicate in a professional manner with children's families, directing questions or concerns to the appropriate team member
Communicate in conflict or stressful situations in a manner that facilitates constructive problem resolution
Attend nursing in-services and meetings, and participates in fire drills
Participate in CMFC or Providence Child Center committees
Identify own learning needs and demonstrates interest in up-grading professional skills through continuing education
Keep up to date with required education: electronic learning, in-services and skill reviews
Maintain respect for nursing floor demands and duties by providing timely communication and recreation plans to appropriate staff
Use adaptive techniques, skills and equipment to provide recreation to each child's maximum participation and cognitive level
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course –OR- Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements
Active and unencumbered license in the state of Oregon as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Current BLS for Healthcare Provider
Valid Driver's License
Driving record within PHS Driving Policy
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
One (1) year Experience as a CNA 2
Knowledge and skill of operating a large, hydraulic lift
One (1) year experience with children, health care setting preferred
Recreational setting accepted
