Providence is calling a Clinical Swabber - Alternative Care Site (1.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR
We are seeking a Clinical Swabber - Alternative Care Site that will work closely with all members of the Virtual Sick Clinic and Drive Thru teams to provide direct patient care to optimize positive patient care outcomes. Provides swabbing to patients presenting at the Virtual Sick Clinic and Drive Thru testing sites. Assists the physician/nurse practitioner during procedures by providing the appropriate supplies, instruments, and equipment.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Procedures - Clinical Testing:
Perform swabbing for clinical testing of COVID-19
Perform other testing or swabbing per scope of clinical license
General:
Demonstrate competency in the performance of procedures and information systems according to department policy
Demonstrate effective priority setting and organizational skills to promote department flow and cost efficiency
Utilize appropriate forms. Documents pertinent patient care information accurately, legibly and concisely, according to department policy
Perform basic patient observation skills and reports significant abnormalities/changes to RN and/or physician/NP
Reinforce RN patient teaching in support of the interdisciplinary treatment plan
Demonstrate knowledge and support of quality improvement goals
Contribute to resolving conflict:
Utilize problem solving skills to promote positive work environment
Seek assistance in resolving conflict when needed
Demonstrate department accountability:
Use downtime productively
Complete charges correctly
Utilize and maintains supplies to minimize waste and over use
Other duties as assigned as applicable
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Education/Training as required to meet licensure -OR- Skills acquired through military experience as medical personnel or senior clinical nursing student
Current EMT, Paramedic, LPN -OR- clinical licensure
Military experience as medical personnel -OR- senior clinical nursing student is also considered in lieu of licensure
Basic Life Support certification (AHA)
One (1) year of Relevant experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Patient care -OR- clinical experience
