Providence Health & Services Certified Nursing Assistant 2 in Portland, Oregon

Providence is calling a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant 2 - Department of Medicine (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.

We presently have 2, new, temporary, and innovative one-year CNA2 positions needed to start as part of a recent quality improvement project. The project aims to reduce delirium primarily by increasing patient mobility. The position will consist of instituting the project's delirium prevention bundle package on a subset on patients on the medical A unit at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

This role will work 3, 12 hour shifts; one CNA2 will work Sunday, Monday and Wednesday and the other role will work Monday, Tuesday and Satrurday each week from 7am to 7:30pm.

In this position, you will:

  • Assist the registered nurse (RN) in providing comprehensive nursing care by performing specified duties and functions under the direct supervision of the RN.

  • Perform duties in a caring and respectful manner that promotes team functioning.

  • Consistently uphold standards of confidentiality, punctuality and attendance.

Qualifications:

Required q ualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA 2) course, or "grandfathered" to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements

  • Current, active certificate to practice as a CNA 2 in Oregon

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • New onboarding caregivers must have a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification

Preferred q ualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year of general hospital experience as a CNA 2
