We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA 2) - Medical Unit West that will perform basic nursing functions and other duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Report observations information regarding patient care condition to the Registered Nurse (RN) in a timely manner
Participate in the admission, care, transfers, and discharge of patients as assigned
Answer patient call lights on all patients and attends patient needs as appropriate
Administer hygienic care to the patient, including bathing, oral and denture care, shaving, combing hair, etc
Assist in pre- and post-operative care of the patient as directed by the registered nurse
Assist in post-mortem care of the patient when requested
Access and utilizes the computer system as necessary for patient care documentation or to enter charges
Assist in keeping patient unit and department neat and clean
Attend nursing unit in-services/meetings and other programs form unit specialization and standards
Precept new staff and students for training and orientation
Participate in QI activities
Maintain good rapport by interacting in conflict or stressful situations in a manner that facilitates constructive resolution
Complete work in a timely manner requesting help when necessary
Communicate effectively and manages conflict in a positive manner
Respond to criticism by effecting an appropriate change in behavior
Comply with the dress code for Providence Portland Medical Center and the employee's department
Monitor tube system for arrival of medications from Pharmacy and transport them to the defined area for medication storage on the unit
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Coursework/Training: Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course -OR- Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements
Active and unencumbered license in the state of Oregon as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
One (1) year experience in general hospital
One (1) year experience as a CNA 2
