We are seeking a Cardiac Monitor Technician - Heart Clinic Gateway that will works closely with a team of clinic staff including physicians and advanced level providers to ensure the delivery of cardiac ambulatory monitor testing. The Cardiac Monitor Tech duties include hook up and disconnect of monitors, receive and edit telephone transmissions, and tracking monitors.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide compassionate care and excellent customer service while assisting patients with holter and event monitors
Receive telephone transmissions for event recorders directly from patients during working hours and from the after hours service each weekday morning
Edit strips, prints transmissions and route to Cardiologist for interpretation, with immediate notification to Cardiologist for life threatening arrhythmias per protocol
Create charge documents for billing office
Follow-up with patient on late returns; provide documentation for collections
Position patient in a manner which is safe, utilizing the appropriate safe patient handling equipment and technique, allowing patients to be comfortable both physically and emotionally
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Completion of Medical Assistant program OR equivalent education/experience
Completion of basic EKG/ECG interpretation class 4
One (1) year experience as cardiac monitor or EKG/ECG technician
Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCI) or associated certifications
Current AHA-BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Provider
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Coursework/Training: Some college
Experience with electronic medical records and/or computerized billing systems
