Providence Health & Services Audiologist in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling an Audiologist (1.0fte days) to Providence Children's Development Institute in Portland, Or.
We are seeking an Audiologist that will manage and provide skilled audiology services to patients/clients with a wide variety of diagnoses and disabilities, taking into account individual patient's special physical or age-related needs; and demonstrate skills in patient/client evaluation and treatment, as well as professional consultations to achieve maximum patient/client independence in accordance with individual's functional level and potential.
In this position, you will have the following responsibilities:
Provides appropriate, timely and effective evaluation and re-evaluation of patients:○ Evaluates patient/client current audiologic functioning status and develops measurable/individualized treatment goals.○ Establishes interventions as appropriate for age/condition/diagnosis.○ Incorporates patient and family as appropriate in goal setting.○ Re-evaluates and updates goals in a timely manner.
Plans and implements a comprehensive and individualized audiological treatment plan:○ Selects safe and effective treatment procedures as appropriate for the patient/client age/condition/diagnosis.○ Modifies and progresses the program in response to changing patient needs.○ Instructs patient/client and caregivers to assist in achieving treatment goals.○ Terminates treatment as appropriate in relation to age/condition/diagnosis and functional performance/outcome expectations and discharge criteria.
Communicates frequently and effectively in the professional environment with patients, caregivers and others:○ Provides and maintains accurate, thorough, legible and timely patient and non-patient related documentation, handwritten or computerized, in accordance with department policy and procedure.○ Maintains positive working relationships.○ Communicates in a manner that is respectful of different approaches to the same situation.
Demonstrates professional behavior and pursues professional development:○ Maintains and enhances personal expertise through appropriate educational experiences.○ Maintains a high standard of professional accountability with respect to appearance, demeanor, safety, ethical and legal issues.○ Provides a comfortable, orderly, clean, and safe work environment.○ Promotes injury prevention and infection control and identifies and reports potential concerns.○ Keeps informed of health care issues, changing department procedures, and other department information by attending staff/team meetings and/or reading staff meeting minutes and newsletters.○ Enhances personal professional growth by establishing individual goals, providing in-services to others, participating in community activities, and contributing to program development.○ Participates in department/service goal setting, QI activities, and Mission Practicum activities.○ Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to adjust daily schedule to meet service area demands and complete workload.○ Performs duties in compliance with departmental policies, procedures, timelines, and productivity standards.○ Promotes a team environment by performing duties as assigned to support overall departmental functions and operations.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degreefrom an accredited Audiology program -OR-
Ph.D.From an accredited Audiology program -OR- equivalent educ/experience
Specialized Audiology training to meet a particular department need.
Specialized Audiology experience to meet a particular department need.
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligibility for
Audiology licensure through the State of Oregon, or eligibility for
National Provider Identifier (NPI)
May require an Oregon driver's license to travel to specific service environments
