Providence Health & Services Accountant in Portland, Oregon


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Accountant to our location in Portland, OR.

We are seeking an Accountant to be responsible for preparing journal entries, preparing general account reconciliations and account analysis. This position will support other functions necessary to complete the monthly financial reporting required for all entities within Providence Plan Partners.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Prepares journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.

  • Analyzes and reconciles assigned General Ledger accounts.

  • Assists in the preparation and analysis of financial statements including supplemental supporting schedules.

  • Prepares schedules and work papers for annual financial audit.

  • Fixed asset accounting.

  • Monthly Sales bonus payments.

  • Support ASO weekly funding process and reconciliation of ASO activity.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year experience in accounting or finance.

  • Experience in Access software.

  • Experience in Health Care Industry.

  • Experience preparing journal entries and reconciling account balances.

  • Experience with computerized financial applications and Microsoft office applications.
