We are seeking a Home Health Aide - Home Health South Portland that will be under the supervision of a registered nurse provides supportive personal care services to patients of all ages according to the individualized physical needs of the patient in accordance with state and federal regulatory requirements.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties and functions to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse

  • Demonstrate positive interactions with the public, and positive interpersonal relations in dealing with fellow employees, supervisors, and other department employees

  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, and as appropriate, other information

  • Support and contribute to effective safety and risk management efforts by adhering to established policies and procedures, maintaining a safe environment, promoting accident prevention, and identifying and reporting potential liabilities

  • Encourage or assist the patient to become as independent as possible within medically determined limitations and promotes general rehabilitation through ambulation and exercise as prescribed

  • Provide or assist with personal care, bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, hair and nail hygiene and other activities of daily living

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

  • State Home Health Aide certification or successful completion (80% or better) of OAHC HHA certification within two (2) weeks of hire

  • Valid driver's license

  • Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider) -OR- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within thirty (30) days of hire

  • Two (2) years experience -OR- Nursing student with current CNA
