Providence is calling a Transporter (1.0 FTE/40 hours per week, Day Shift) to work in Patient Transportation at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.

Transporter performs duties involving the movement of patients, items, and equipment to and from various nursing units and destinations within the hospital. The transporters' primary focus is to respond to and complete tasks within the departmental productive standards, these tasks are assigned to them by the Transport-Tracking automated dispatch system and their supervisor. Transport must promote team concept with fellow staff members by using lifting devices to ensure a safe transfer.
In this position you will:
Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed, morgue cart, to and from clinical, ancillary and support departments throughout PSPH.
Function independently through the utilization of an interactive voice response computer based Patient Tracking System.
Ability to operate the Transport Tracking system appropriately and efficiently by demonstrating proper phone use and following system processes.
Transport only the correct patient in the correct manner of conveyance.
Transporting, stocking, and locating of materials, supplies, specimens, equipment and miscellaneous items.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Six (6) months involved in the movement of ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients in a Health care setting or two (2) or more years of military service
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
