Providence Health & Services Revenue Integrity Business Process Specialist in Olympia, Washington


Providence is calling a Revenue Integrity Business Process Specialist (1.0 FTE/40 hours per week, Day Shift) to work in Resource Optimization at Providence St Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.

We are seeking a Revenue Integrity Business Process Specialist who will work throughout the Providence Health & Services in revenue cycle systems and structures support our ministries and operations in all regions from Alaska to California. In line with our core strategy of Ministry's Committed to Excellence and enhancing the overall patient care experience (know me, care for me, ease my way) we are committed to delivering a robust foundation of services, operational and technical support, and the sharing of comprehensive, relevant, and highly specialized revenue cycle experience

In this position you will:

  • Reads and interpret documents contained in the EHR to identify and code/charge relevant procedures, utilizing the national and PHS ORC coding guidelines, Coding Clinic, and other appropriate coding references, such as CCI Manual, and tools to ensure proper code assignment.

  • Contributes to team efforts to meet coverage, processing, and quality standards by being cooperative, responsible, and positive. Shares new information with others in the department.

  • Promote PH&S as a premier service organization by treating customers with compassion and respect.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Three years (3) Medical Billing/Health Information Management/Medical Record background/experience or equivalent experience working in healthcare setting or clerical/office setting.

  • A work pattern that shows an increasing responsibility and leadership

  • Proven history of proactively identifying, resolving and escalating issues that impact business and documentation outcomes

  • A track record in organizing and planning with demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and achieve results in a fast paced environment

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • EPIC experience.

  • A track record showing good decision making skills based upon a mixture of analysis, experience and judgment.
