Providence is calling a Perioperative Support Assistant (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week Days) to work in Surgery at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.

A Perioperative Support Assistant provides patient support services within surgical services under the direction of designated licensed staff.
In this position you will:
Facilitates the set-up of equipment and supplies for surgery cases. Demonstrates knowledgeable of equipment and supplies required for each case.
Assists Surgical Support Tech (MOR) & OPS Support personnel in procuring supplies and equipment for each case.
Properly sets-up equipment e.g. patient positioning devices, Microscopes, OR lights, OR beds, etc.
Utilizes Physician Preference Data (PPD) sheet.
Assist nursing staff with room turnovers.
Implements body substance isolation. Knowledge of routine housekeeping duties.
Turns over rooms at end of case.
Sets-up room appropriate for case.
Operates OR table, patient beds and patient stretchers safely and appropriately for case.
Provides safe transportation of patients. Neonate; Pediatric; Adolescent; Adult; Older Adult.
Observe patient at all times to assure safety of patient.
Assure side rails are up, limbs are safely positioned and all items attached to patient are contained.
Remains with patient until nursing unit personnel are present.
Practices principles of aseptic technique: Neonate; Pediatric; Adolescent; Adult; Older Adult.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience as a surgery assistant in a hospital or medical environment
Certification as an EMT or NAC.
