Providence is calling a Mental Health/Substance Use Disorder Professional (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week Day Shift) to the Chemical Dependence Op at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

The Mental Health Therapist//SUDP(T) works as part of the Mental Health Substance Use Disorder treatment team providing integrated mental health and substance use disorder treatment. Elements of the position include clinical assessment of patients, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and referral.

In this position you will:

  • Completes comprehensive Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder assessments utilizing evidence based tools to develop preliminary diagnosis for substance use and mental health disorders utilizing DSM 5 criteria.

  • Monitor progress/regress through the use of appropriate, measurable and time linked interventions related to goals identified in the treatment plan.

  • Initiates, periodically evaluates and revises individualized treatment plans based upon problems identified in the assessment and individual collaborative treatment planning sessions.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health, co-occurring treatment modalities and the ability to apply therapeutic, trauma informed interventions consistent with the patients’ age, gender identification, cultural, and spiritual beliefs.

  • Manage information according to federal confidentiality guidelines, including obtaining complete releases of information and following policy relate to requests for records/information

  • Generate professional comprehensive correspondence for insurance companies, employers, courts and other relevant referral sources.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or other Mental Health counseling field.

  • Coursework/Training in Substance Use Disorder Trainee

  • WA State Chemical Dependency Trainee License (WA SUDPT)

  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate or equivalent

  • AHA BLS

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • One(1) year experience working in a substance use disorder or dual diagnosis treatment facility
