We are seeking a Manager Medical Staff Services who will be responsible for the management of the medical staff offices at Providence St. Peter Hospital and Providence Centralia Hospital. This includes credentialing and privileging, peer review, medical staff related regulator requirements, continuing medical education and fair hearing processes. The position is responsible for management of support services and resources assigned to the medical staffs. The responsibilities include working closely with the Medical Staff President and other medical staff leaders, providing advice and support regarding organization policies/procedures, providing continuity and follow through in planning, development and implementation of organization goals and objectives. The Manager will serve as a liaison between the medical staff, hospital administration and hospital staff, as appropriate. The position has budget accountability and supervisory responsibilities.
In this position you will:
Administers Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and policies as directed by the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Staff President and other medical staff leaders and departmental committee chairs
Provides consultation to medical staff leaders, departmental committee chairs, administrators and SW Community Mission Board members in matters related to Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, medical staff policies, credentialing and privileging.
Provides support to medical staff committees and maintains appropriate and accurate record
Works collaboratively with Providence Legal, Accreditation and Risk Management in matters related to the medical staff.
Informs administration, medical staff of provider credentialing activity through records, documentation , reviews, meetings and communications
Identifies role and responsibility in complying with facility and unit specific safety and security policies, plans and procedures
Complies with facility and unit specific infection control, risk management and OSHA guidelines and procedures
Required qualifications for this position include:
Three (3) years experience in a lead or supervisory position in medical staff services.
Experience in coordination with administrators, upper level managers, medical staff officers and physician practices.
Certified Professional Medical Staff Manager (CPMSM), National Association of Medical Staff Services
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, business administration or related field OR
Robust work experience in Medical Staff Services will substitute for preferred education level. Current certification as a Certified Professional Medical Staff Manager (CPMSM) is required
In the event that a highly qualified candidate for this position is not CPMSM certified, certification must be successfully obtained within 2 years of hire date
