Providence Health & Services Maintenance Specialist in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Maintenance Specialist (0.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
*Please note that this is an on-call position.*
In this position you will:
Perform routine maintenance and care of building and grounds in order to provide a safe, attractive, and orderly environment for the care of participants/residents/patients/clients.
Be responsible for daily maintenance and repair, nurse call systems, or any other assigned maintenance related item at the facility.
Assist in the development and enforcement of fire, safety and security procedures.
Order and receive maintenance supplies.
Tests fire alarm pull stations, generators, fluid levels in generator, fire doors, hot water temperatures for residents and laundry within the specified time-frames.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Washington State Driver’s license
1 year of experience in building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and/or drywall repair
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Three years maintenance experience in a health care facility
Certification and/or building trade license

Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, Washington serves people of all ages and faiths. Our Transitional Care Unit is designed for patients coming out of the hospital who need skilled nursing care, end of life care, or rehabilitation for those recovering from surgery or who have a functional loss from illness, disease, or an accident. Our Long Term Care unit provides skilled nursing in a residential setting, addressing the needs of our residents through creating a sense of community and home in “neighborhoods” and providing a model of care that is resident-centered.
