Providence Health & Services Endoscopy Technician in Olympia, Washington


Providence is calling an Endoscopy Technician (Per Diem, Day Shift) to work in the Endoscopy at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

Gastrointestinal Assistants perform a variety of clerical, technical, and patient care duties in support of the Endoscopy operations. The assistant maintains and cleans equipment, transports patients, and orders supplies. The GIA assists the physician and RN during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The assistant responds to emergency situation as directed by the RN.

In this position you will:

  • Facilitates or provides transfer and/or movement of patients independently or assisted

  • Appropriately identifies and solves problems

  • Maintains professional development by pursuing education opportunities

  • Maintains and troubleshoots endoscopes to comply with infection control standards

  • Orders appropriate supplies to maintain rooms and operation of Endoscopy Department

  • Ability to assist physicians and RNs in Endoscopy procedures


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • One (1) year experience in a health care setting

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification
