Providence Patient Care Delivery Supervisor (RN) in Northridge, California
Providence is calling an Patient Care Delivery Supervisor (RN) (Full time/Variable shift) to our Providence Facey Medical Foundation in Northridge, CA.
We are seeking a Patient Care Delivery Supervisor (RN) who will supervise and coordinate the patient care support staff. Ensure quality improvement programs and efficient allocation of resources.
In this position you will:
Act as a resource to the patient care delivery staff
Deliver upon the service expectations of both our patients and fellow staff members by listening to their needs; engaging in positive interactions; and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their total outcome is better than expected
Respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patients
Work in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards. Report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotline
Ensure that areas of responsibility are operating in accordance with Quality Assurance/Quality Management and accreditation standards
Assist in the development of the budget for the department and allocate funds within budget to accomplish objectives. Monitor/report variances against budget
Support the staffing in assigned work areas; assess the clinical needs of the designated departments
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings and workshops
Ensure the adherence to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards
Ensure the adherence of new procedures
Attend meetings as required and participates on committees as directed
Ensure the adherence to new projects and administers inservice education for staff
Monitor and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records Maintain all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
Ensure an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment
Cooperate with Patient Care Delivery Directors and managers to achieve department/team objectives, maintains good employee relations and interdepartmental teamwork objectives and good customer service programs
Approve/deny approved time off for staff. Monitors time cards for assigned employees, evaluate and correct deficiencies in time card accuracy and submission
Authorize any overtime
Maintain current RN license, ACLS, American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers and other appropriate licensure/certification
Demonstrate effective management skills
Hire and retain qualified staff; ensure new employees are oriented to their department and well trained for their jobs
Organize the department workload and establish work standards to promote efficiency and productivity
Motivate and manage staff to ensure that performance standards are met or exceeded
Give timely and constructive feedback on performance; documents all corrective counseling
Prepare and conduct fair and objective performance appraisals within one month of the employee's anniversary date
Ensure that adequate in-service education is available to staff members
Keep clinical staff apprised of changes in organization and departmental policies
Maintain a high degree of professionalism
Demonstrate the ability to make decisions, take appropriate action and follow tasks through to completion
Recognize the implications of new situations and develop workable solutions
Demonstrate a willingness to accept new responsibilities
Respond cooperatively to managers and staff members in other departments to promote teamwork
Act as a role model in demonstrating the customer service standards of the organization
Demonstrate a commitment to personal growth and development by participating in external activities related to professional goals
Attend departmental meetings as appropriate and contributes ideas for improving efficiency, productivity and patient satisfaction
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent educ/experience
California RN license
Current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers required
2 years Nursing staff supervisory experience in a patient care delivery setting
2 years Current medical office experience with references
UR/QA knowledge along with knowledge in the development of protocols also required
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
