Providence Health & Services Patient Relations Rep Portland Metro All Openings in Newberg, Oregon


Providence is calling a Patient Relations Representative to one of our various practices in the Portland Metro area

The Patient Rlatinos Rep is the first point of contact for patients and or visitors in person or by phone. This position plays a key role in maintaining a high level of patient satisfactionby providing exceptional customer service.

We have full-time, part-time, relief or float openings and have 8 to 12 hour shifts available during day time hours (7:00am-7:00pm) with some of our clinics being open on the weekend. We are actively seeking candidates to join one of clinics across the Portland Metro area as well as have the opportunity for you to join a float pool where you can support various clinics within a specific geographic area.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service and serves as first point of contact to patients or visitors in person or by phone

  • Navigate multiple and complex data systems to research and/or record pertinent information in compliance with policies

  • Operate multi-line telephone system; routes calls and responds to general inquiries

  • Register patients; updates demographic and insurance information

  • Make patient appointments and monitors appointment schedules daily

  • Reviews charts and adjusts daily provider schedules to ensure accuracy in scheduling and visit preparedness

  • With additional training:

  • Greet incoming patients, obtains initial vital signs (Height, Weight, BP, Pulse, Respirations) and in accordance with

predefined metrics

  • Document pertinent patient care information

  • Prepare rooms for new patients

  • Stock room supplies and carts

  • Utilize and maintains supplies to minimize waste


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • High School Diploma -OR- equivalent combination of education and experience

  • One (1) year of customer service experience or successful completion of a Providence internship

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Office Applications

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • One (1) year of medical office -OR- healthcare experience

  • Basic experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and/or computerized billing systems

  • Medical terminology experience

  • Rooming position: CNA, non-credentialed MA, EMT experience, or similar experience
