Providence Manager - Pharmacy *Up To $5000 Hiring Bonus* in Newberg, Oregon


Providence is calling a Manager - Pharmacy (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg, OR. This position will work M-F standard business hours.

We are seeking a Manager - Pharmacy that will plan, coordinate, direct and perform Pharmacy Department operations to provide for quality pharmaceutical care to Providence Seaside Hospital patients and staff under the highest professional standards.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Determine workload requirements, schedules staff to meet the workload demands

  • Monitor activities to assure adherence to established standards, procedures, schedules, and protocols

  • Maintain current policy and procedure manual, is a resource to answer questions regarding correct procedures

  • Maintain positive working environment and good rapport with staff and other hospital employees by interacting in a manner that facilitates constructive outcomes

  • Provide for an effective, well-trained staff by interviewing, hiring, training, orienting, leading and evaluating the job performance of new and existing personnel

  • Provide counsel for employees

  • Help to resolve conflicts, authorizes disciplinary action when required; listens to concerns

  • Complete yearly performance appraisals, recommending pay changes when appropriate

  • Work with management team and department employees to establish yearly goals and objectives

  • Assist in budget development

  • Continually evaluates existing programs recommending changes or updates to maximize available technology, personnel, and resources

  • Coordinate department quality assurance activities

  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement and plans, implements monitors and evaluates programs to improve area of identified need


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Current registration and license by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy OR ability to obtain Oregon licensure by the week before your start date

  • Two (2) years of experience as a hospital pharmacist

  • Demonstration of supervisory and administrative ability

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate from an accredited college of pharmacy

  • Completion of a pharmacy residency training program
