Providence Health & Services Principal Data Engineer PSJH *Telecommute* in Nevada
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Principal Data Engineer PSJH to work remotely within our footprint states: AK, CA, MT, NV, OR, TX and/or WA.
We are seeking a Principal Data Engineer PSJH to lead the development of data structures, processes and algorithms using advanced technologies to support population health initiatives. He or she will develop data processing methods for ingesting, processing, storing and reporting in an Azure cloud environment. He or she will work with healthcare claims, Electronic Medical Record (EMR), vendor and other healthcare data. The Principal Data Engineer will also train and oversee the daily work of Data Engineers and establish data standards for the Population Health Informatics team.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Lead the design and management of data structures, processes and algorithms to support population health risk arrangements and government programs.
Develop data processing methods for ingesting, processing, storing and reporting with healthcare claims from payers, Electronic Medical Record, vendor, and other healthcare data.
Design, manage and automate DevOps tasks and processes in an Azure cloud environment.
Design, manage and automate using Azure Databricks.
Mentor and train Data Engineers and lead team meetings and projects.
Establish data processing standards for the Pop Health Informatics team.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Health Informatics, MPH, MBA, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent education/experience.
8 years experience querying large datasets using SQL, Java, python and/or scala.
2 years experience working with one or more of the following cloud-based technologies: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
3 years experience with Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) technologies like Azure Data Factory or Informatica.
3 years Data architecture experience, including data ingestion, processing, storage and reporting in a big data environment.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
2 years experience working with healthcare claims and/or Electronic Medical Record billing data.
Knowledge of Azure cloud, Azure Databricks and CICD tools
