Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Corporate/Enterprise Director Health Record Data Integrity PSJH to work remotely within our footprint states: AK, CA, MT, NV, OR, TX and/or WA.
We are seeking a Director Health Record Data Integrity PSJH who will be accountable for the operations and strategic direction/delivery of a best-practice HIM Data-Integrity service model within Revenue Cycle throughout the Providence health system (including affiliates). This role includes developing and executing strategic plans around organizational transformation, integration, standardization, and modernization of HIM Data-Integrity services. A strong degree of vision, forward-thinking, leadership skills, business acumen, and communication skills are required for this position.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Ensure that all HIM data-integrity related services' strategic goals and services are aligned with organizational priorities and developed in a consistent and standardized manner across all Regions.
Overall management and oversight of HIM data-integrity services, including but not limited to, managing EMPI conversions/patient-database loads, resolving potential MRN duplicates, and handling interface error queues within designated scope of responsibility.
Overall management of data-integrity technology, workflows, systems/tools, and vendors as applicable. Identification of new technology/tools to enhance efficiencies, quality, etc.
Lead enterprise-wide data-integrity-related initiatives and ensures adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Overall oversight of the development of standardized policies, procedures, and practices related data-integrity across all regions.
Establishes and monitors overall compliance to all relevant HIM KPI’s and other metrics.
Incorporate knowledge of enterprise-wide business strategies to effectively challenge the status quo and delivers innovative methods to gain efficiencies, reduce costs, increase automation, and improve quality.
Lead large-scale projects which include: financial and quality analysis, problem-solving, and team collaboration while leading a multidisciplinary team to advance revenue cycle programs.
Lead integration activities to standardize complex and disparate processes to best-practice standards across the enterprise.
Proactively identifies opportunities, addresses obstacles, and leads transformational activities related to modernization and innovation.
Establishes strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders such as Risk/Integrity/Compliance, Quality, Information Services, vendors, Patient and Market Experience, and other departments within the organization.
Able to breakdown raw information and undefined problems into specific workable components that in-turn clearly identifies the issues at hand. Makes logical conclusions and decisions using a strong data/analytical approach.
Consistently display awareness and sensitivity to the needs of internal and/or external customers. Proactively ensures these needs are met or exceeded.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree; AHIMA accredited HIM program or other related field of study.
Registered Health Information Administrator or Registered Health Information Technician.
10 or more years healthcare Industry HIM related experience.
5 years Leadership role in HIM in a complex healthcare environment such as a large multiple-hospital health system.
Demonstrated experience standardizing complex and disparate processes and maintaining common processes to standards across multiple facilities and in different settings.
Demonstrated experience in process improvement methodology, change management, operational improvement in complex systems.
Acute HIM leadership experience in a large integrated health system featuring a variety of specialty services.
Healthcare business operations and/or financial management experience in a healthcare setting.
Demonstrated experience standardizing complex and disparate processes and policies.
Demonstrated experience working in a multiple facility environment and an ability to operate in a matrix organizational structure.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administrator, Public Administration, or HIM.
