Providence Northern California Communication Manager in Napa, California
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Northern California Communication Manager to our location in Santa Rosa, CA or Napa, CA.
The communication manager is responsible for the successful management and implementation of marketing communication activities in the region. This role manages assigned projects, working collaboratively with other team members and Marketing peers, and drives the execution of marketing communications plans to support the achievement of business goals and objectives. This role also serves as the trusted partner and liaison for assigned business units. This includes attending key region or hospital meetings to ensure strategic execution in support of business unit goals and a constant and trusted presence for the marketing communication focus within the regional Communication function.
The communication manager works directly with other functional teams to develop the strategies and tactics supporting marketing communication plans, and also manages region-specific events, provides content/resource support for communication initiatives, and tracks metrics for assigned programs.
This position requires a good understanding of relevant audiences, channels and principles, including for consumer marketing, advertising, public relations, thought leadership, reputation management, crisis communications, and internal communications. This person needs to prioritize multiple requests, work on diverse tasks simultaneously, and be able to influence decisions by effectively using data and knowledge to advocate for the most effective audience-centric strategies and tactics.
Serves as the marketing communication lead for programs and services. Identifies opportunities and responds to needs in a timely manner.
Works closely with other members of the Communication team to build marketing communication strategies and plans in support of regional and local market strategy, and to promote and enhance the organization’s reputation.
Synthesizes insights from multiple stakeholders and audiences into initiatives that will drive overall success of assigned projects.
Executes high-quality tactics to meet business objectives.
Delivers on time and within budget.
Manages relationships and priorities with key executives and leadership teams.
Establishes and maintains strong cross-functional working relationships, and effectively manages and coordinates the activity of multi-functional project teams.
Partners with Marketing and Brand on creative design and visual materials development and distribution.
Develops and writes internal and external content, marketing collateral, ad copy, blogs, newsletters, and content for other tools and channels that aligns with the organization’s brand voice.
Manages the review process between stakeholder groups for marketing communication deliverables.
Manages sponsorships and other external partnerships that support strategic marketing communication objectives.
Stays abreast of key marketing, communication, and consumer/audience trends, and works with research and media teams as necessary to gain better understanding of audience behavior and the market.
Supports crisis communication as a public information officer as needed.
Position requires ability to travel occasionally (20%).

Required qualifications this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
5 years demonstrated management experience in broad-based and successful communication programs
Demonstrated experience managing communication programs and business relationships.
Demonstrated experience working in highly matrixed and geographically dispersed organizations and teams
Demonstrated writing and editing experience. Demonstrated health care experience
Deep knowledge of integrated health care and communication practicies
Ability to create strong, strategic business relationships with senior executives and board leadership at both the organizational and region/ministry levels
