Providence Health & Services Health Information Coordinator in Mount Angel, Oregon
Providence is calling a Health Information Coordinator to Providence Benedictine Nursing Center in Salem, OR.
Health Information Management and Coordination
in a busy Home Health office. Diagnosis coding experience preferred.
Work in the community of Mt. Angel, OR.
In this position, you will:
Focus on International Classification of Diagnosis (ICD) coding, reviewing clinical records for accuracy and completeness, collecting,collating, and summarizing audit data.
Participate in audits to ensure clinical documentation is in compliance with federal, state and Joint Commission rules and regulations.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education in medical terminology
2 years of experience in a health information team setting or related team setting
1 year of college course work in health information technology or equivalent
1 year of experience using an electronic health record application
Experience with billing and diagnosis coding functions
Experience with Microsoft Office products or equivalent data capture software
In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 “Background Checks”, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Associate degree in Health Information Technology -or- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Experience in a Home Services Agency
Experience in compliance review or release of information
