Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Director RCS Analytics Delivery PSJH. This role is open to candidates residing in Washington, Montana, Oregon or California. This role will be remote, but will require some travel as needed to the Irvine, CA office location.

We are seeking a Director RCS Analytics Delivery PSJH who will responsible for leading the RCS Analytics Products, RCS Data Science and related functions focused on delivery and health of analytics-focused products. This position is seen as the accountable lead for analytics products published by the team. This position is responsible for the development, integrity and maintenance of: dashboards, reports, models, extracts, routine data-related deliverables, published predictive modeling, and all aspects of ML-oriented product delivery.
Areas of focus are primarily focused on the Revenue Cycle function, Finance, and tangentially related areas including internal & external vendors. Key objects for delivery include but are not limited to dashboards, reports, extracts, scheduled/prepared data products and infrequent files.
This position will lead managers & line-level caregivers accountable for products spanning disciplines, functions and regions varying in size and complexity. This position is a key role providing data and analytics to enable insights to operations management, uncovering threats and opportunities, and enabling non-technical users to find answers to most questions, most of the time. This position manages both direct and virtual teams, both on and offshore, from concept phase through implementation, flexibly responding to needs and enhancing the internal capability within the organization to develop and drive change, facilitate alignment, and deliver return on RCS analytics product development. The position requires superior organizational and communication skills, and an ability to organize activities and move initiatives forward in an ambiguous environment. The role requires a leader who promotes an expectation of high quality deliverables, and ensures highly effective products through cross-training and quality assurance practices.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Directs a staff of managers, analysts, developers, designers and data science professionals. Provides mentoring and oversight. Responsibilities include recruitment, performance management, and ongoing professional development. Excels in leading managers and accountable leads. Ensures staff conduct their work commensurate to their roles, provides opportunities to stretch and grow, and counsels under performing resources according to PSJH guidelines.
Ensures product documentation including requirements, data dictionaries, technical specifications, metadata, and user guides as outlined in departmental guidelines. Proactively pursues remediation of analytics products affected by impending upstream changes, system transitions/migrations, technology platform updates and other environmental events that would adversely affect published products.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, inter-team leaders and system/regional analytic leaders.
Partners closely with HI, IT and other key areas of dependence and interaction. bi-directional collaboration.
Partners closely with customers and stakeholders to implement dashboards, analytics solutions, etc. in support of stakeholder needs. Collaborates with Project Managers as needed to ensure timely delivery of promised products.
Partners closely with the RCS Data Insight leadership in the development and maintenance of a outstanding analytics deliverables.
Partner with system and regional analytic, data, and technology teams to ensure products are properly sourced, secure and accessible. Ensures products are delivered in accordance with according to
Collaborate with system level analytic and data departments to ensure collaboration across teams, avoid duplication of development offerings, and guiding caregivers to the most appropriate PSJH analytic resource to meet their needs.
Reviews, and acts upon pertinent survey and feedback information from customers, stakeholders and RCS leadership. Develop a SWOT, Goals, KPIs, and a Plan to address feedback as needed/directed.
Excels in enabling resources to deliver high volumes of quality analytics products within compressed deadlines. Has a keen eye for talent and ensures cross-training and bench strength contingencies.
Provides effective and intuitive status of workload (inventory, in-flight, break-fix, etc.) to relevant parties for review and prioritization. Ensures blocks to delivery are properly communicated/escalated.
Serves as key member of RCS Data Insights leadership and works to help ensure departmental alignment to RCS functions, initiatives, leaders and corresponding stakeholders.
Manages confidential and time sensitive information with integrity. Serves as a trusted advisor to regional and service area leaders to deliver analytics products required for critical decision-making on high priority programs and initiatives.
Shares best practices with other members of the RCS Data Insights team as a way of improving upon the collective development of team members.
Proactively identify issues that may impact the successful execution of key initiatives, strategies, or program plans, and escalate issues that arise.
Performs special projects as needed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, or related discipline or equivalent education/experience.
8 years Progressively increasing responsibility in management level (project and/or people) experience with specific data management, analytics, data science, platform development, or analytics program management experience.
5 years Leadership experience.
5 years Experience in healthcare for an understanding of the nature of the work performed.
5 years Healthcare management consulting or similar experience with production systems, system transitions & migrations
Change management, facilitation, and process improvement methodologies with substantial project management experience of complex, multi-regional, strategically important initiatives.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
