This posting serves to establish interested candidates for a current opportunity for the Director of Human Resources position at The University of Providence located in Great Falls, Montana.
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing human resource policies, programs, and activities in support of both operational and strategic goals. The role advises on people strategy and serves as a change agent across the university. The Director of Human Resources will supervise a part-time HR Generalist to ensure all day to day transactional work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. The HR Director must be an experienced professional, have strong business acumen, critical thinking capabilities, operate in an autonomous manner, have strong initiative, have proven capability to move from development to execution, and must utilize discretion and collaboration to navigate and manage relationships with all University of Providence stakeholders. The Director will perform all duties in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of University of Providence. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for these values and standards.
Plan, design, and implement strategies for Human Resources in support of institutional and department goals.
Development and on-going administration of Human Resources policies, procedures, guiding principles, and processes.
Consult with PSJH HR “Centers of Expertise” (COE) as needed to locally manage benefits, compensation, talent management and learning, and other shared services elements for employee/HR initiatives.
Liaison to the President’s Cabinet and collaborate with the Controller on HR related initiatives.
Ensure HR Compliance to all Federal and State regulations applicable, including mandatory HR training.
Investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues.
Responsible for planning and implementation of all compensation processes, HR related metrics, job content documentation, benefit changes/updates, performance management, etc…
Oversee yearly employee engagement survey and support leaders with action planning.
Accountable for implementation of effective hiring and HR onboarding process, including HRIS data integrity for new hires and position/salary changes.
Accountable to ensure accurate HR information is provided to department administrative staff for new and annual renewal of term employment contracts for faculty, adjuncts, and other applicable professional staff.
Serve on various committees and other duties/projects as assigned.

Required qualifications for this position include:
At least 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including at least one leadership HR position accountable for the majority of HR functions within an organization
Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
SPHR or PHR
