Providence Health & Services Unit Secretary/CNA - Surgical Short Stay in Missoula, Montana

Description:

Providence is calling a Unit Secretary/Certified Nursing Assistant (Surgical Short Stay Unit, Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

The Unit Secretary/CNA performs assigned tasks and activities that include the clerical functions such as transcription of orders, computer data entry, maintenance of patient activities for the records, telephone answering, and unit reception.

  • Give complete and accurate report to licensed staff upon completion of tasks and duties.

  • Obtain and record height and weight.

  • Orient patient and family to call lights and unit routines. Answer patient calls promptly.

  • Perform accurate placement of telemetry patches and address telemetry signal issues promptly

  • Perform restorative rehabilitative procedures as instructed.

  • Prepare patient for meals, serves snacks and assist with feeding.

  • Provide for comfort, hygiene and safety needs of patients.

  • Utilize a collaborative interdisciplinary process to provide support to all members of the Patient Focus Care Team to reinforce basic patient/family education.

  • Document all clinical information supporting assigned tasks accurately and completely in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Montana.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire

  • Successful completion of an orientation program or equivalent experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)

  • Administrative Assistant and/or Reception experience is highly preferred
