Providence Health & Services Senior Planned Giving and Donor Relationship Specialist in Missoula, Montana


Providence is calling a Senior Planned Giving and Donor Relationship Specialist (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Be responsible for the development of major and planned gift prospects for the Providence Montana Service Area and hospitals and for maintaining and building relationships with existing donors to the hospital with an active donor portfolio. This includes regular face-to-face donor meetings and proposal presentations.

  • Proactively evaluate based on wealth screening and donor database analysis recommended opportunities for increasing gift revenue and the major and planned gift pipeline.

  • Evaluate metrics and determines key strategies for results. Serves on the Major Gifts/Planned Gifts leadership team.

  • Oversee and advise on briefings and strategies for key leaders involved with planned gift donors and prospects.

  • Assist major gifts officers with cultivation/solicitation strategies, as well as with solicitation techniques, proposal/fund agreement preparation, negotiation, and closure of such gifts.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 7 years of demonstrably successful direct major and planned gift fund-raising experience

  • Proven track record in cultivating and soliciting qualified prospects, closing gifts (outright and planned) and stewarding major donors and working within established guidelines and frequent deadlines

  • Experience developing the relationships necessary to promote the trust and confidence of the organization’s leadership, including prospects and donors

  • Experience with success in capital campaign fund raising

  • Basic software applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet, Email and donor software )

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree
