Providence is calling a Registrar (Patient Registration, Evening Shift, 0.9 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:
Request, collect and document co-pays from patients effectively and efficiently within EMTALA guidelines where applies.
Escort and/or direct patient appropriately once registration completed.
Secure patient's valuables in accordance with PH&S procedures, providing appropriate validation documentation and storing valuables in safe as needed.
Ensure order entry tasks are completed timely and accurately.
Process in-house patient work queues timely and accurately.
Ensure all relevant documentation is scanned timely and accurately.
Identify, resolve and escalate major issues and service failures that impede success.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient demographic, medical, and financial information, ensuring proper handling and disposal of confidential documents and adherence to HIPAA.
Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and requirements as well as PH&S policies and procedures in all aspects of job performance.
Required qualifications for this position include
Highschool Diploma or GED
1 year experience in customer service or healthcare registration
Preferred qualifications for this position include
Completion of some college level course work preferred particularly Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant coursework
Demonstrated knowledge of CPT and ICD coding and medical terminologyCertified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS)
