Providence is calling an Operating Room Scheduler (Surgical Services, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Present in-services or other educational offerings as assigned
Train new employees as asked to do by supervisor
Check incoming faxes/printer output regularly and distributes as needed
Distributes mail if asked to do so
Clean workplace and logs off computers at end of shift
Contact vendors when needed
Copy and distribute schedule at the end of the day
Create orientation packets for new surgeons
Create pivot table in Excel to calculate requested statistics
Create spreadsheets for data collection as requested by surgery staff
Demonstrate efficiency when handling telephone requests and messages
Download data from Meditech database using programs developed by decision support
Edit call schedule as needed
Effectively schedules OR procedures and prepares and prints next-day schedule
Format data into Excel database program
Input anesthesiology information
Input data from nursing records
Input lab orders
Merge databases to link staffing with case information
Monitor daily schedule including location of patients and case flow
Print Endo and OR two-week schedule each morning. Prints OR, Endo, Call, Day Surgery, and Volunteer schedule in the evening
Print labels and creates patient packets
Produce monthly reports including: case totals by inpatient and outpatient, annual month by month comparison, turnover time, delays, case total comparisons, 7:30 start times, block utilization report, orthopedic utilization reports, pre-op antibiotic utilization, and other special reports as requested
Schedule cases for endoscopy
Schedule cases for the OR
Update all dictionaries for Meditech surgery module as necessary
Update block list and surgeon list as needed
Verify daily cases using nursing records

Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies:
American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider),
American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), -or-
Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire
