In this position you will:
Applies Patient identification and allergy bands.
Completes accurate intake and output
Completes and documents personal inventory on newly admitted patient and places their belongings in the locked cupboard
Prepares room and bed for receiving patient, ensuring a clean and safe environment. Continues to observe patient's environment to ensure safety and comfort.
Contributes to the assessment of the patient by collecting information for analysis by the Registered Nurse (RN).
Gives complete and accurate report to licensed staff upon completion of tasks and duties.
Orients patient and family to call lights and unit routines. Answers patient calls promptly.
Performs accurate placement of telemetry patches and addresses telemetry signal issues promptly.
Performs activities of daily living (ADLs) with patients as instructed.
Prepares patient for meals, serves snacks and assists with feeding.
Provides for comfort, hygiene and safety needs of patients.
Utilizes patient positioning aids and turning schedules to protect pressure points.
Documents all clinical information supporting assigned tasks accurately and completely in a timely manner.
Reports panic values and abnormal findings to the RN promptly.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Must obtain MT CNA License within 12 months of hire into a Nursing Student Assistant position.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA)(BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC)- (BLS for Health Care Provider), Military Training Network (MTN)- (Healthcare Provider) upon hire.
