Providence is calling a Mammography Technologist II (Per diem/Day Shift) to Providence Facey Medical Foundation in Mission Hills, CA.

We are seeking a Mammography Technologist II who will perform mammographic procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. Performs mammography procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
In this position you will:
Perform mammographic procedures to departmental standards of quality.
Perform both the craniocaudal and mediolateral oblique projections during a screening mammogram.
Identify the image laterality and projection correctly utilizing the proper radiographic tools.
Properly identify patient, documents patients limitations and verifies the procedure prior to starting the exam.
Apply the maximum tolerable amount of compression to the patients’ breast to assist in achieving a quality mammogram.
Evaluate the mammographic image for correct positioning, technique, artifacts and compression.
Maintain appropriate credentials and certification related to clinical practice.
Ability to establish baseline factors for QA/QC evaluations as established by ACR, Federal and State regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
Keep Quality Assurance manual updated with current certification and licensure pertaining to Radiologist and Mammography Technologist.
Ability to perform and document all required QA/QC data as required by ACR, federal and state regulatory agencies, and manufacturer guidelines.
Perform computer and written documentation as required for procedure implementation or completion.
Be familiar with filing procedures. Be willing to pull files as needed.
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures with a proficiency level not to exceed 2.0% repeat ratio per procedure volume.
Adjust to fluctuating workloads.
Follow proper safety precautions:
Demonstrate proper use of protective equipment.
Use proper body mechanics when assisting patients, moving equipment, etc.
Follow infection control policies and procedures.
Dispose of used products in the appropriate manner.
Maintain current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers and other appropriate licensure and certifications.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers
2 years experience in a clinical or hospital environment
1 year Clinical mammography experience
Must have knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) pertaining to state and Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations
Preferred qualification for this position include :
