Providence Health & Services Senior Medical Technologist in Milwaukie, Oregon


Providence is calling a Senior Medical Technologist (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Milwaukie, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results and in-depth technical/ theoretical knowledge of instruments and methodologies.

  • Perform complex QC, troubleshooting and maintenance duties w/ minimum supervision.

  • Be responsible for performing complex pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instrument maintenance and problem resolution.

  • Interact with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, vendors, consultants, and other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duties.

  • Be expected to possess an understanding of the Providence Health and Services and the Regional Portland Service Area (PSA) Laboratory Services goals and strategies.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Certification or Registry (Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist)) from a government agency or nationally recognized professional organization (eg. American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency (NCA), etc.

  • 5 years of industry related experience from an equivalent high volume or acute care laboratory performing high complexity testing

  • Documented professional development. Demonstrated outstanding abilities in meeting the goals of the Laboratory

Preferred qualifications include:

  • 2 years of experience in Hematology, Coagulation and Limited Microbiology
